Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing echocardiography testing, assisting physicians in delivering safe patient care, and working collaboratively with healthcare teams to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echo, and other types of echocardiography testing as required.
  • Capture digital cardiac images and perform measurements correctly, recognizing pathology and customizing exams as needed.
  • Responsible for daily quality control of equipment and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Participate in the orientation of new employees as needed.
  • Prepare echocardiogram procedures, including equipment, supplies, and paperwork.
  • Respond to stat calls and report life-threatening pathology to attending physicians or fellows.
Requirements
  • Technical Diploma from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program.
  • Appropriate credential in echocardiography, such as ARDMS or CCI.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience performing echocardiography with various manufacturer echo machines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current and valid BLS certification.
  • Years of experience as an Echocardiography technologist in an outpatient setting.
