The Measurement Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring precise measurement of liquid volumes and proactively identifying opportunities for preventative maintenance. Measurement Specialists utilize advanced metering systems to provide essential data regarding pipeline operations to both the Company and its clients.

This position is centered around the following key responsibilities: flow computers, provers (both portable and fixed), sampling techniques, and Lease Automatic Custody Transfer Units (LACT) for both plant and field applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting intricate calibration, troubleshooting, and repair operations.
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies (e.g., loss and unaccounted product, quality variations).
  • Providing training and guidance to new or less experienced team members.
  • Measuring performance in high and low-pressure gathering systems.
  • Installing, programming, and calibrating Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) systems.
  • Collecting liquid samples for analysis.
  • Setting up, operating, and maintaining liquid sampling systems.
  • Installing, programming, maintaining, and calibrating both portable and stationary gas or liquid chromatographs.
  • Scheduling, executing, and witnessing proving processes on liquid meters.
  • Performing routine inspections, calibrations, and repairs on meters and related equipment (including provers, Coriolis, positive displacement, turbine, and ultrasonic meters).
  • Conducting regular maintenance and repairs on communication equipment and sampling systems.
  • Executing product composition and quality sampling and testing.
  • Working independently in various weather conditions at remote locations, with availability for emergency callouts.
  • Participating in and completing necessary training programs, risk management reviews, and safety meetings to comply with regulatory and company standards.
  • Reviewing and adhering to procedures to ensure compliance with all company and industry standards, meeting regulatory agency requirements.
  • Accurately completing documentation such as timesheets, test tickets, work permits, and regulatory reports.
  • Optimizing work processes in an efficient manner, aligned with industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Maintaining a safe and organized work environment through good housekeeping practices.
  • Effectively utilizing tools and testing equipment as required.
  • Responding to operational emergencies as part of an emergency response team.
  • Performing and documenting regulatory inspections as required.
  • Overseeing contractors providing specialized services (Quality Assurance, Quality Control) as necessary.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting Automatic Tank Gauging (ATG) equipment.
  • Witnessing proving processes for NGL and crude LACT skids.
  • Carrying out other related duties to support the ongoing needs of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the reporting location.
  • Ability to perform the following physical tasks with or without reasonable accommodation:
    • Occasionally exert a pulling force of 130 pounds.
    • Frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Regularly stoop, squat, kneel, and crouch for up to 30 minutes.
    • Occasionally climb A-frame ladders up to 12 feet.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of experience in the measurement field, including programming, calibrating, installing, and repairing flow computers.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Possession of a CDL license with Hazmat endorsement.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and capacity to influence at both local and organizational levels.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
