About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Dairy Farmers of America. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including preventative maintenance, overhauls, and modifications.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve equipment issues in a timely and efficient manner, minimizing downtime and ensuring production continuity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production staff, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and equipment histories.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvements and implement changes to optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in mechanical or technical studies.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in a process manufacturing environment, with a focus on equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Certifications/Licenses: 2-year formal mechanical education certificate or equivalent, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and other company computer systems.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with machine shop equipment, pneumatics, solenoids, air cylinders, PLCs, and other mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a fast-paced production environment, with exposure to various physical and environmental conditions, including:

  • Physical Demands: Standing, walking, grasping, reaching, climbing, squatting, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, wet or humid conditions, refrigerated temperatures, loud noises, dust, fumes, and dairy/food products.
