Company Overview: The Alaska Public Defender Agency (APDA) is a government organization that provides constitutionally mandated legal representation to low-income justice-involved individuals. Our mission is to advocate for the rights of those in need and promote justice in our communities.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 per year.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Justice Advocate to join our team. As a Justice Advocate, you will work with clients to address their non-legal needs, such as accessing substance use disorder treatment, housing, and public assistance. You will also assist clients in applying for benefits and connecting them with community resources. Your primary goal will be to empower clients to improve their well-being and achieve stability in their lives.

Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. A high school diploma is required, and a 4-year college degree is preferred. Experience working with underserved populations and/or in a professional setting is also highly valued.
