Position Overview: Under the guidance of the expo facility coordinator and/or the expo manager, the individual in this role will engage in a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks of limited complexity. The ability to comprehend, interpret, and adhere to both oral and written instructions, as well as the capability to lift and transport items, is essential. Supervision and guidance will be provided for new or challenging assignments. This role necessitates frequent interaction with the public.

Core Responsibilities:
- Set up and dismantle poles, drapes, and other event equipment.
- Assist patrons with inquiries related to the facility.
- Perform custodial tasks, including stocking restroom supplies, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning spills.
- Transport tables and chairs, arranging them as requested.
- Staff the concession area, ensuring accurate payment processing and change return.
- Navigate uneven terrain for outdoor event preparations.
- Collect litter both indoors and outdoors.
- Lift and empty trash receptacles into dumpsters.
- Other related tasks as necessary or required.
Competency Requirements:
- Accuracy - Ability to perform tasks with precision and thoroughness.
- Communication - Proficient in conveying information effectively through spoken and written means.
- Problem Solving - Limited problem-solving required in this position.
Requirements: Must pass a post-offer drug screening. Reliable transportation to and from the facility is necessary.
Experience: This is an entry-level position. A variety of experiences and skills will be advantageous.
Education: No minimum educational requirement for this position.
Skills: Bilingual abilities are beneficial but not mandatory. Familiarity with basic hand tools, cleaning equipment, and calculators is helpful. Training will be provided for necessary skills, and retention of instruction is expected.
Problem Solving: Minimal problem-solving is involved; duties follow established policies and procedures.
Decision Making: Limited decision-making responsibilities; duties adhere to prescribed policies and procedures.
Accountability: The employee is not responsible for budgetary control and does not participate in the annual budget process.
Supervision: Supervision is provided multiple times daily, with all job-related decisions reviewed by the supervisor. This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
Interpersonal Relations: Frequent interaction with other county departments and the general public, requiring effective communication and positive relations.
Working Conditions: The role involves both indoor and outdoor work based on event requirements. Late nights and weekends are common. Event setup and teardown typically occur on weekdays but can be adjusted as necessary. Employees must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required.
