Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new and current processes and procedures to improve the efficiency of managing and expanding our IT hybrid infrastructure.
  • Perform research, analysis, and implementation of software patches or hardware changes needed for security or server-related deficiencies.

  • Champion and drive the configuration and maintenance of mission-critical servers and services to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Monitor existing systems to ensure constant availability of IT services and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical direction and support to IT administrators and IT support specialists to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Ensure all IT services are properly maintained and upgraded, including anti-virus, backups, imaging, and patching.
  • Drive organizational and technical change and new additions to the services catalog to support business growth and objectives.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new projects, standards, and tools to enhance team efficiency, performance, and security.
  • Oversee the on-premises Active Directory environment, including maintenance, GPOs, file server permissions, backup, and recovery.
  • Provide guidance and input to management and lead cloud architecture reviews to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Direct the planning and implementation of new IT infrastructure capabilities to support business growth and objectives.
  • Ensure all systems are designed and implemented following Hotwire standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate across the company to understand changing business needs and communicate IT team initiatives based on business requirements.
  • Develop points of view on emerging infrastructure application technologies and evaluate their applicability to business goals and operational requirements.
  • Understand successes and failures in the marketplace to guide the firm's IT strategy better.
  • Develop and implement new infrastructure products and standards of operations throughout the technology organization.
  • Develop and document the proposed technical/infrastructure design for integrating and implementing new solutions, working across the IT department.
  • Support vendor relationships in all related technologies to ensure services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Recommend process improvements to peers and leadership.
  • Complete architectural assessments and unbiased analysis of critical decisions within projects, including impact on systems, timelines, and other key variables.
  • Support communication strategies that will guide the organization to standard technologies or create new standards as development needs arise.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer engineering, or related field, or related work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, integrating, and managing complex IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Proficient in architecture/design and implementation of workloads in cloud and hybrid cloud environments (resilience, compliance, security).
  • Experience with Microsoft Server platforms and technologies; Windows Server, VMware ESXi, vSphere, Exchange Server, SQL Server, IIS Web Server, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, File/Print Server administration, Storage and Software Defined technologies.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere 6.0 and up.
  • In-depth knowledge of the ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack.
  • Knowledge of backup applications (Veeam, Barracuda, Commvault, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise system monitoring tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of system administration tools such as Intune, Tanium, SCCM, WSUS.
  • In-depth knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, etc.
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms.
  • Experience with multiple cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including experience with intrusion detection, firewalls, antivirus software, patch, and vulnerability management.
