As a Senior Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data strategy for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, a luxury hospitality brand renowned for its exceptional service and attention to detail. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing, developing, and supporting the corporate master data program, ensuring the highest data integrity, governance, and service to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an overall organizational data strategy that aligns with business processes, including data model designs, database development standards, implementation, and management of data warehouses and data analytics systems.
  • Identify data sources, both internal and external, and devise a plan for data management that is aligned with organizational data strategy.
  • Support Enterprise Data Architecture roadmap by managing architectural runway for enterprise data model and relevant enterprise data platform capabilities.
  • Help develop standards and best practices for data modeling, databases, ETL/ELT, and Analytics.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance on data architecture decision-making.
  • Conduct a continuous audit of data management system performance, refine whenever required, and report immediately any breaches or loopholes to the stakeholders.
  • Define and implement data governance policies and standards.
  • Stay informed of emerging data technologies and recommend solutions for enterprise adoption.
  • Design logical and physical data models for complex enterprise systems.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across disparate sources.
  • Lead the design and implementation of data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Understand data security best practices and implement appropriate safeguards.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions for data management.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across IT and business functions.
  • Mentor and guide junior data architects and data engineers.
  • Manage and prioritize data architecture projects within budget and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation for future reference.
  • Track project progress and report on key metrics to stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • 8-10 years of experience in data architecture or a related field (data engineering, data warehousing)
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions
  • Experience working within a large enterprise environment
  • Leadership experience in managing and mentoring data teams
  • Data Modeling: Expertise in logical and physical data modeling techniques
  • Database Management: Deep understanding of relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases and implementation experience with technologies like Snowflake, AWS RedShift, etc.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, data lakes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Data Integration & ETL/ELT: Experience with data integration tools and processes for data movement like AWS Glue or similar technologies
  • Data Governance: Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices
  • Data Security: Understanding of data security principles and encryption techniques
  • Data Analytics: Experience with analytics tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in SQL, potentially with scripting languages (Python) for automation
  • Communication: Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork and leadership skills to guide junior team members
  • Project Management: Experience managing complex data architecture projects
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data requirements and design optimal solutions
  • Problem-Solving: Skills to troubleshoot and resolve data management challenges
