Job Title: Orthopedic Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Orthopedic Nurse to join our team at ReVive Orthopedic Spine & Sports Medicine. As an Orthopedic Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our orthopedic department.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
  • Interview patients to determine medical problems/conditions and document in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs and weight.
  • Assist with physician orders, lab requests, and follow-up needs with patients.
  • Collect samples, such as urine and blood, for testing and perform routine laboratory tests.
  • Schedule diagnostic studies and surgery, and order x-rays as needed.
  • Prepare injections, aspirations, and other medical procedures.
  • Monitor biohazardous waste and prepare for disposal.
  • Prepare drug screens and dispense medications.
  • Review medical treatment with patients as instructed by the provider.
  • Obtain x-ray and imaging results and import outside discs.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and physicians.
  • Provide staff coverage for other clinical personnel.
  • Complete applications for handicap parking permits, FMLA, and other necessary documents.
  • May include up to 10 hours of marketing per week, visiting referral sources as needed.
  • Willing to learn phlebotomy at our practice.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to different practice locations as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to three years of related experience in the medical field.
  • Orthopedic experience preferred.
  • RN license required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Registered Orthopaedic Technologist (ROT), or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.
  • BLS certification preferred.
