Job Title: General Manager

At MV Transportation, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our operations and drive business growth.

Job Summary:

The General Manager will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our operating locations, ensuring the delivery of annual business plans and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach programs.
  • Select, train, and mentor location staff.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance plans and ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements.
  • Develop and implement safety and training programs to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct periodic departmental audits and review key operational metrics.
  • Ensure location financial metrics are managed continuously, exceptions are reported, and action plans are developed to meet financial, safety, and operational expectations.
  • Implement and promote company policies and procedures.
  • Interact with the bridges committee to effectuate positive changes to policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Participate in location(s) labor and employee relations activities.
  • Provide insight and information to support location(s) contract renewals.
  • Create and present location(s) annual budget.
Requirements:
  • College degree or equivalent business management experience.
  • Management experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of comprehensive experience in operations management and 7 years of management or supervisory experience in a transit environment with knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software.
  • Labor/union(s) negotiations/expenses expertise.
  • Full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance.
  • MS Office, strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and high degree of multi-tasking skills.
