Chemistry Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Chemistry Instructor to join our team at Kern Community College District. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of Chemistry courses, including introductory and advanced classes.

The Chemistry Instructor will be expected to provide high-quality instruction, assess student learning outcomes, and maintain subject matter currency. The successful candidate will also be responsible for participating in student recruitment and articulation activities, developing and revising curriculum, and using computer and multimedia technology to enhance the learning experience.

• Teach a range of Chemistry courses, including introductory and advanced classes
• Assess student learning outcomes and maintain subject matter currency
• Participate in student recruitment and articulation activities
• Develop and revise curriculum to meet the needs of students
• Use computer and multimedia technology to enhance the learning experience

• Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field
• OR Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry and Master's degree in a related field
• OR Possession of a valid credential authorizing the full-time teaching of Chemistry at the California Community College level
• OR The equivalent
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students

• Experience teaching Chemistry courses
• Knowledge of computer and multimedia technology
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
