The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach coursework in the new energy sciences curriculum
  • Teach courses in the Chemistry or Physics programs based on the faculty member's expertise and background
  • Develop and teach a broad spectrum of courses

Requirements
  • Master's in Chemistry
  • OR Master's in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Physics, Physics, or Geochemistry AND a Bachelor's in Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • OR Master's in Physics
  • OR Master's in Engineering, Mathematics, Meteorology, or Geophysics AND a Bachelor's in Physics or Astronomy
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to teach in the interdisciplinary area of Physical Science (chemistry and physics)
  • Ability to teach in a discipline area of Engineering
  • Knowledge of Environmental/Energy/Sustainability policy through work experience or academic credentials
Knowledge and Abilities

  • Sensitivity to students with a wide range of skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of computers and willingness to experiment using multimedia instructional materials

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
