Job Overview
Under the guidance of the Head Housekeeper, the Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for ensuring that a designated number of guest cabins, common areas, and service zones are kept in pristine condition and maintained promptly. The aim is to provide these areas with necessary supplies, company literature, and amenities to ensure the utmost satisfaction of guests and crew members alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Introduce yourself to guests and outline the services you will provide throughout their stay.
- Learn and use guest names in daily interactions to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in compliance with all relevant guidelines.
- Thoroughly clean guest cabins on a daily basis, including any private balconies.
- Report maintenance issues identified in guest areas promptly.
- Properly stock and manage cleaning carts as per instructions.
- Ensure that designated information and amenities are placed in guest cabins.
- Stay informed about events and programs to assist guests with inquiries.
- Help in the removal of service items from guest cabins to designated locations.
- Assist in managing inventory of linens and supplies, ensuring proper storage of used items.
- Maintain cleanliness in corridors and assist with light maintenance tasks as directed.
- Support fellow crew members in their duties to achieve collective service goals.
- Exhibit professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
- Participate in monthly inventory checks as assigned.
- May assist in other areas of the housekeeping department as needed.
- Attend all meetings scheduled by the Head Housekeeper or management.
- Adhere to all company memos and directives.
- Participate in mandated drills and emergency procedures as required.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to meet operational needs.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications:
Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) if applicable.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
Experience:
Minimum of two to four years of experience in a similar role preferred.
Other Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated.
