Position Summary: The Fiber Services Drop Team at Mercury Broadband is responsible for the installation and maintenance of fiber optic connections for residential customers. The ideal technician will exhibit professionalism in both demeanor and appearance, while collaborating effectively with team members and construction managers. Adherence to installation protocols and safety standards is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install fiber optic equipment at customer locations.
  • Assist in the construction of fiber drops, including vaults, pedestals, and conduits.
  • Engage with customers, landowners, and inspectors, representing the company with professionalism.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow instructions from the Field Team Lead and collaborate with the Fiber Foreman.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor settings.
  • Experience with utility potholing and marking.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Proficient in basic computer operations and networking concepts.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Self-motivated and customer service-oriented.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Training Provided:

  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Safety training and OSHA certifications.
  • Training on installation techniques and equipment.
  • Networking principles and Ethernet wiring.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to bend and perform manual labor.
  • Experience with digging and using hand tools.
