Position Overview

The Senior Assurance Staff Accountant will take charge of audit engagements and work collaboratively with audit teams on intricate projects. This role involves close collaboration with senior leadership to guarantee the effective execution of financial statement audits for governmental organizations. Additionally, you will oversee and mentor junior auditors while providing essential insights throughout the engagements.

  • Independently organize, plan, and finalize audit engagements.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff auditors.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Become a recognized expert in auditing and financial standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize accounting and auditing standards to identify potential risks and offer recommendations.
  • Design audit programs and testing methodologies.
  • Compile workpapers, financial statements, and audit documentation.
  • Engage with clients to address and resolve audit-related issues.
  • Achieve billing and charge hour objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and GAAP.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
