Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Performance Management:

  • Exemplifies the expected behaviors for all team members, promoting the company's Code of Conduct and cultural values.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, and nurturing a diverse and high-performing team of managers and associates.
  • Leads the store to meet financial objectives, including revenue, margin, expenses, customer satisfaction, and inventory shrinkage.
  • Oversees all sales initiatives, ensuring the execution of the defined selling process and achieving various financial targets.
  • Manages the Operations Manager to ensure that all business operations align with company standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all Retail Non-Negotiable Standards, including staffing, brand presentation, and inventory management.
  • Enhances the overall customer experience by managing in-store interactions and addressing customer feedback.
  • Collaborates with the District Manager to identify and address business opportunities.

Managerial Duties:

  • Builds and maintains a productive sales team, working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Handles all in-store Human Resources processes, including recruitment, training, and performance management.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to scheduling policies to maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Ensures that store presentation and brand standards are consistently upheld.
  • Provides a safe working environment by following company safety and shrink standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Works with the Operations Manager to maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
  • Manages store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling.
  • Oversees pricing and inventory management processes.
  • Assumes additional leadership responsibilities as directed by the District Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience or prior sales associate experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient in persuasion, negotiation, and closing techniques.
  • Computer literacy, with experience in Excel, Word, and handheld devices preferred.
  • Proactive leadership style with a strong results orientation.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Knowledgeable in retail operations and business practices.

Compensation:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, American Freight provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including skill set, experience level, and cultural fit. The starting pay range for this role is $56,810 to $61,750 per year.
