Job Title: Senior NLCC Communications Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior NLCC Communications Systems Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and analysis to support the development of information services and communications capabilities for the NLCC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise and analysis to support the development of information services and communications capabilities for the NLCC.
  • Lead technical interchange meetings, technical and policy development working groups, and program reviews to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, technical specifications, and test plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges and opportunities.
  • Provide technical and analytical support for the development of communications implementation plans and technical transition plans.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Science/Technology, or a related field.
  • At least ten years of relevant experience leading and managing tasks associated with DoD command and control or communications and networking projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively lead and work within small or medium teams.
  • Ability to represent APL effectively at the Senior Executive Service and Flag Officer level.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance and ability to obtain a TS/SCI level clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Science/Technology, or a related field.
  • At least fifteen years of relevant technical experience, including a strong background in NLCC, SLC3S, and DoD technical capabilities and acquisition.
  • Knowledge of DoD command and control enabling capabilities and systems.
  • Experience working on and leading efforts for the Department of Defense.
