Job Summary

Kronos Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions, including travel accounting, compliance reporting, and DOE reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze accounting data for compliance with policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and DOE/NNSA requirements.
  • Interface and collaborate with the Finance Accounting and FP&A teams, Program Managers, and Project Analysts, as needed.
  • Process employee travel requests in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Preferred - Experience with and/or exposure to Federal Travel Regulations.
  • Experience with large travel platforms, preferred (Expense Anywhere, Concur, AdTrav, etc.).
  • Assist with ServiceNow case management and LaunchPad tickets.
  • Reconcile travel/payroll related accounts.
  • Prepare and submit assigned journal entries and account reconciliations and maintain working papers required to record accounting activities.
  • Maintain subsidiary ledgers to support accounting control data and reconcile account balances.
  • Develop data to be used in determining cost variances. Analyze variances, prepare explanations, and investigate significant variances and account balances.
  • Analyze data to identify recurring problems, then investigate and recommend corrective action.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
