Key Responsibilities- Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with department chairs and other senior leaders to ensure effective integration of departmental operations.
- Provide leadership and direction to departmental administrators and staff.
- Department Oversight
- Oversee the administrative functions of academic departments, including appointments, promotions, and search processes.
- Ensure effective clinical administration, including ambulatory clinic administration, inpatient service administration, and surgical/procedural service administration.
- Support research administration, including pre-award and post-award administration.
- Financial Management
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, including capital and operating budgets.
- Monitor and analyze financial reports to inform decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- System Engagement
- Develop and implement coordinated programmatic initiatives to improve care delivery and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with counterparts across Mass General Brigham to assess market needs and develop programs to respond to those needs.
- Human Resources Management
- Oversee the management of departmental staff, including hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Develop and implement change management programs to improve efficiency and resource utilization.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration or healthcare management.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a healthcare or academic setting.
- Proven track record of success in strategic planning, departmental operations, and financial management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
