The Quantitative Finance Engineer, based in Southern California, collaborates with quantitative researchers and technology teams to design, construct, test, and maintain intricate quantitative models employed in diverse investment management tasks. Essential skills include strong engineering and quantitative capabilities, the ability to convert complex quantitative models into functional software, a rigorous experimental methodology to validate models, and a swift comprehension of capital markets (equity and fixed income), modern portfolio theory, various market data sources, and industry-standard portfolio risk models. Additionally, the ability to learn new technologies and business areas is crucial. Responsibilities also encompass modeling complex challenges, uncovering insights, and identifying opportunities through statistics, algorithms, and data mining.

  • Preferred advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an analytical or development role, collaborating with quantitative researchers or data scientists to experiment, design, build, and validate quantitative models, and assist in their transformation into technological solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in quantitative tools such as R, Python, MATLAB, etc.
  • Capability to translate business objectives into quantitative models, formulate hypotheses, and design robust experimental approaches for validation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Data analysis proficiency using tools like SQL is advantageous.
  • Experience with cloud technologies is a plus.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $148,045-$236,872.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, you will also be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, along with Capital's annual profitability bonus, and a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.

*Temporary positions in Canada and the United States are excluded from the aforementioned compensation and benefit plans.
