Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Paraprofessional to join our Special Education team at Springdale Elementary School. The successful candidate will assist the classroom teacher in providing comprehensive educational and functional training to students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher in maintaining a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Follow the teacher's directions to ensure a clean and orderly learning environment.
  • Monitor student behavior and implement behavior modification and intervention plans as needed.
  • Provide supervision of students during recreational periods, bus duty, field trips, and other assigned periods.
  • Assist in providing direct academic, supportive, and functional instruction to students as directed by the assigned teacher.
  • Operate duplicating machines and other equipment as needed to produce or reproduce program-related materials.
  • Provide physical care of assigned students, including toileting, dressing, and feeding.
  • Comply with departmental regulations on confidentiality.
  • Refer parents to the assigned teacher when they have questions or concerns.
  • Display excellent interpersonal skills with teachers, staff, and students.
  • Notify the school and teacher of any absences in advance.
  • Attend Professional Learning and in-service classes as required.
Requirements
  • Highly Qualified Paraprofessional
  • Two years of college or sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours
  • Knowledge of basic subject matters, teaching practices, and equipment operation
  • Ability to follow instructions, maintain discipline, and communicate effectively

  • Salary range: Grade 34
