About the Role

Banner Health is seeking a highly skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team in Tucson, Arizona.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, with varied hours and some call required.

As a Vascular Technologist, you will be responsible for selecting and placing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgery. You will also provide instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgical procedures.

This role requires manual dexterity, the ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful situations, and the ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare for surgical procedures by pulling appropriate instruments and supplies and ensuring good working order of instruments.
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs and pass instruments and retract tissue.
  • Demonstrate principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure.
  • Ensure all surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate and evaluate quality and safety, seeking opportunities for improvement in patient care.
  • Assist with OR turnover between cases and participate in stocking, replenishing supplies, and cleaning operating rooms.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.
  • Certified as a surgical technologist with one to two years of experience or three to four years of experience in a surgical technologist role.
