Position Overview: Lead Systems Engineer/Technical Consultant

We are looking for a driven and customer-focused Lead Systems Engineer/Technical Consultant to become an integral part of our client's team.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to providing intelligence support to the warfighter. Familiarity with NRO decision-making processes and knowledge of various mission systems and capabilities are essential. The ability to foster collaborative teams and establish trusted relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analyses and evaluations of MID projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, technology development plans, and NRO requirements.
  • Advise government personnel on technical risks associated with ongoing and new initiatives, while reviewing and assessing technologies and system concepts to recommend innovative applications.
  • Facilitate and coordinate outreach efforts between MID and NRO offices, other government entities, industry partners, and academic institutions.
  • Provide technical support and evaluations for Intelligence Community (IC) activities related to technology, research, and applied technology concepts.
  • Manage and support systems engineering tasks and initiatives.
  • Assist in the establishment of procedures and standards for overseeing technical development and architecture plans across the MID Enterprise.
  • Contribute to MID Enterprise assessments, planning, and visualization, identifying opportunities for transition and implementation.
  • Review, analyze, and prepare staffing documents, including plans, policies, and technical architectures.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of NRO capabilities across various intelligence domains (e.g., GEOINT, SIGINT, MASINT, HUMINT).
  • Possess knowledge of ground and space-based architectures and their interconnections.
  • As directed, provide expertise and support for developing future Intelligence Program Budget Submissions (IPBS), NRO Program Objective Memorandums (POM), and Congressional Budget Justification inputs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 15 years in a technical role.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Knowledge of GEOINT, SIGINT, MASINT, and HUMINT.
  • Experience with ground and space-based architectures.
  • Background in Research and Development.
  • Experience in Cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with NRO operations.
  • Experience within the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a science or engineering discipline.
  • Exceptional presentation skills for senior government audiences.
  • Innovative and collaborative mindset with the ability to work across various functional areas (Technical, Programmatic, Financial, Business/Contractual).
