Job Summary: Provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and staff through spiritual/cultural rites and activities elected by them. Collaborate with pastoral care staff, departmental volunteers, and clinical pastoral education program students to respond to referrals to patient/community resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with patients and staff to understand their spiritual and emotional needs.
- Develop and implement plans to provide spiritual support and care.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Respond to referrals to patient/community resources.
Requirements:
- Social intelligence and ability to engage others meaningfully and emotionally.
- Personal and spiritual commitment to supporting the welfare of others.
- Functional understanding of various religion-philosophic biases.
- Sophistication in professional health team work.
- Basic comprehension of disciplines associated with own special area of expertise.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- B.A or B.S. Degree preferred.
- Graduate Seminary degree Master of Divinity, or specialized training within denominational guidelines preferred.
