Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing emergency medical care to patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document patient information and procedures, and communicate effectively with licensed clinicians.
  • Prepare and administer medications under the direction of a licensed clinician.
  • Assist physicians with bedside procedures and provide support in emergencies.
  • Collaborate with physicians to facilitate patient care and coordinate communications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Requirements
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Emergency Medical Services.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in a paramedic role or appropriate related clinical experience.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, squat, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during the work shift. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from the floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. You will also be required to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.

You will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and blood and body fluids on a continuous basis. Protective clothing must be worn as necessary, and you must have functional vision and hearing. You will operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
