Position Summary:
The role of the Product Packaging Specialist involves the efficient packaging of various products. This includes all components for SafeRack, Erectastep, Rollastep, YellowGate, or any other items designated for packaging by the work center lead or Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to ascertain the type and quantity of packaging required, as well as the availability of stock and order priorities.
2. Proactively manage the movement of materials to work centers to ensure operational productivity and organize materials according to workflow.
3. Identify and predict shortages in packaging materials and components, promptly informing the Work Center Leader of any issues.
4. Safely transfer materials between stock and production areas using appropriate equipment such as overhead cranes, carts, and forklifts.
5. Comply with all safety regulations and requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
6. Perform general housekeeping duties within assigned areas before, during, and after each shift, including the removal of all packaging waste.
7. Train on the fundamental operations of machinery and work center processes.
8. Gather necessary pre-cut components and packaging materials as required for job specifications.
9. Utilize the ERP system consistently and adhere to established protocols.
10. Strive for efficiency in all processes and keep the Work Center Lead informed of any challenges encountered.
11. Execute finish grinding tasks using manual and power tools when necessary.
12. Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Production Manager or Work Center Lead.
