Key Responsibilities- Interviewing and Verifying Information: Conduct thorough interviews with applicants to obtain and verify information needed to determine eligibility for public assistance programs.
- Processing and Entering Data: Process data from electronic sources and enter information into a computer-based eligibility system under state and federal requirements.
- Eligibility Determination: Determine program eligibility in accordance with current regulations using a computer-based eligibility system.
- Client Communication: Instruct clients in completion of various forms, review applications and forms submitted for completeness and accuracy, and advise clients of deadlines and necessary actions to be taken.
- Case Management: Manage an electronic caseload, ensuring accuracy levels are maintained, and cases are processed within specified time frames set by federal and state regulations.
- Education and Experience: Two years or more of customer service, interviewing, recruiting, investigating, accounting, processing insurance policies, or determining eligibility. OR Associate degree, or higher from an accredited college or university, OR 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours can substitute for the experience.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, analyze and interpret written, numerical, and verbal data, enter data accurately into a computerized system, and navigate through computer screens to complete and review basic computer documents and other forms.
