Senior Project Superintendent Job Description

Wharton-Smith, Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Project Superintendent with a background in Water/Wastewater projects for the Charlotte, NC area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Direct and supervise field personnel on assigned projects, ensuring timely completion and quality control.
  • Safety Management: Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
  • Short-Term Scheduling: Plan and coordinate daily activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing delays.
  • Manpower and Equipment Resource Management: Schedule and coordinate the use of equipment and personnel, ensuring optimal productivity.
  • Permit and Regulatory Inspections: Coordinate and manage permit and regulatory inspections, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Project Set-Up and Temporary Facilities: Establish and maintain temporary facilities, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Field Documents Control: Manage and maintain accurate records of project documents, including daily reports and progress photographs.
  • Material Handling: Coordinate the receipt, storage, and inventory of materials, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing waste.
  • Layout and Subcontract Coordination: Plan and coordinate layout, ensuring efficient use of space and minimizing delays.
  • Jobsite Hiring and In-Place Quantity Reporting: Hire and manage field personnel, ensuring accurate reporting of project progress and quantities.
  • As-Built Drawings and Post-Construction Review: Participate in the creation of as-built drawings and post-construction review, ensuring accurate documentation and lessons learned.
  • Client and RPR Relations: Maintain positive relationships with clients and RPR, ensuring timely communication and resolution of issues.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School diploma.
  • Experience: Appropriate supervisory experience, with a preference for experience in Water/Wastewater projects.
  • Skills: Good communication and people skills, presentation experience, and computer proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Certifications: Valid Driver License and ability to commute to job sites.
