About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at First Student, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our students and passengers. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on our fleet of Thomas C2 school buses, using your diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues and complete work orders efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with our fleet vehicles
  • Assist with mobile emergency services and ensure timely completion of work orders
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to obtain a CDL (training provided)
  • Basic mechanic's tool set and ability to work independently
  • ASE testing and certification a plus
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly rate ($29-$35 per hour, per Union contract)
  • ASE incentive of $0.25/hour for each relevant ASE obtained (training materials and exams provided)
  • Monday-Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 8:30 am - 5 pm full-time shift
