Key Responsibilities

  • Transport materials and products from receiving or production zones to designated storage or operational areas.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, and products within the assigned workspace.
  • Potential training in heavy machinery operation, including forklifts, to prepare for advancement to a Freight Handler position.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the work environment, including sweeping floors and cleaning dock areas.
  • Assist in cargo reception by manually unloading from trucks or utilizing powered industrial equipment.
  • Assemble customer orders from inventory and organize them on pallets or shelves, or transfer them to packing or shipping areas.
  • Open and sort various containers, placing items on racks or in bins according to established sequences.

Qualifications

  • One to three years of experience in a warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
  • Capability to occasionally push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Good or corrected vision and basic arithmetic skills are required.
  • Basic language skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend and complete basic checklists and forms.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Forklift certification or experience is preferred, but candidates with exposure to similar equipment may be considered.
