Overview:
The Nutrition and Culinary Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the health and wellness of students through a comprehensive culinary education program. This position is designed to support the physical education curriculum by integrating nutrition education and culinary skills into the learning experience for children in grades K-8.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Nutrition and Culinary Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, preparing, and delivering engaging nutrition-focused curriculum modules tailored for K-8 students on a monthly basis.
- Collaborating with the program manager to establish and manage a detailed teaching schedule for culinary education.
- Overseeing the procurement of all necessary grocery supplies to facilitate the culinary curriculum.
- Maintaining and managing culinary equipment essential for effective teaching.
- Tracking financial expenditures related to the culinary program and ensuring timely submission of billing and reimbursement documentation.
- Conducting culinary classes at various program sites at least once a month.
- Supervising and guiding classroom teachers, aides, interns, and parent volunteers during culinary sessions.
- Working alongside the program manager to identify and pursue additional funding and grant opportunities to support the culinary initiative.
- Establishing a system to evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of the culinary education program.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field.
- At least one year of practical experience in the culinary field.
- A minimum of two years of experience working with children, particularly in grades K-8.

- Proficiency in both Spanish and English (preferred).
