Job Summary

Exos is seeking high-performing individuals to participate in our intensive internship program at our Performance Center in Rapid City, SD. As a Performance Specialist Intern, you will gain knowledge and experience working in a highly skilled strength and conditioning environment, training individuals and groups.

About the Internship

You will learn from best-in-class human performance professionals, developing and refining your coaching skills. You will shadow, observe, and participate in the programming and services offered to our athlete clientele, ranging from youth to adult, collegiate, elite, and professional.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Exos Methodology through weekly educational sessions, lectures, presentations, and practicums.
  • Gain practical training on developing linear and multi-directional movement skills, applications, and program designs.
  • Engage with the NFL Combine preparation program in select locations (spring semester only).
  • Have the opportunity to earn the Exos Performance Specialist Certification (XPS).
  • Participate in sports-specific training methods, performance nutrition, physical therapy, and the utilization of sport science for client evaluations.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program specializing in sport science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, exercise science, etc.
  • Must be in a program accepting course credit in exchange for an internship experience, as this is an unpaid internship.
  • Have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (students who are not currently certified may seek certification during the application process).
  • Passionate about working with the active/athletic population.
  • Eligible for work in the USA.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday. Frequent walking around and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and squatting are movements performed daily.

Internship Logistics

If selected for this internship experience, you will be asked to find, secure, and fund your own housing for the duration of the internship. You will also be responsible for booking and funding your travel and relocating to the location of your internship prior to the start date. You will fund all food and transportation costs for the duration of your internship. You will confirm course credit through your school advisor.
