Child Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Associated Clinic of Psychology. As an essential member of our community-based services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children aged 0-5 and their families.
About the Role:
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments using the DC:0-5 outcome measurements to identify the needs of young children and their families.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each family, ensuring a collaborative approach with other professionals supporting the child's development.
- Provide family therapy sessions upon completion of the diagnostic assessment, promoting strong relationships and healthy coping mechanisms within the family unit.
- Foster effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams dedicated to supporting the well-being of children aged 0-5 and their families in Dakota County.
Requirements:
- A Master's or higher degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university, with a commitment to obtaining LICSW, LMFT, or LPCC licensure.
- The ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including families from various cultural backgrounds and those experiencing trauma.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong clinical and collaboration skills, with a passion for working with young children and their families.
- Mental stability and the ability to maintain professional boundaries, adhering to ethical standards in your practice.
- Timely submission of documentation and reports, ensuring accurate records of services provided.
- A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and willingness to travel within the Twin Cities metro area for home visits and meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with early childhood mental health interventions, including training in the DC:0-5 diagnostic assessment and manual.
- Knowledge of effective early childhood mental health strategies and treatments, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt to emerging best practices.
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care, neurodiversity-affirming approaches, cultural diversity, and their implications on therapeutic processes.
- Experience working with young children (ages 0-5) and their caregivers, or a strong desire to develop this skillset.
