Key Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist:

  • Conduct home visits to assess and support clients in designated areas.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations to identify, diagnose, and implement therapeutic strategies for individuals facing challenges with speech, language, communication, or swallowing.
  • Create tailored treatment plans in alignment with evaluations, physician directives, and set objectives.
  • Regularly review and update the speech therapy care plan, collaborating with BAYADA professionals in the overall care strategy.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients, family members, or other representatives on rehabilitative practices and activities that foster health, safety, and independence.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of observations, interventions, and evaluations related to patient care using advanced technology.

Qualifications for the Speech Language Pathologist:

  • Must hold a valid license as a Speech Language Pathologist in North Carolina.
  • Should possess a certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association, or meet equivalent educational and experiential criteria.
  • Candidates in the process of completing the necessary supervised work experience for certification are also encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in computer skills is essential; familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.
