## Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Oncology Unit at Sentara CarePlex Hospital. As a Registered Nurse on this unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse population of patients and their families, providing exceptional care and support.

## Key Responsibilities

* Assess and admit patients, conducting thorough evaluations to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans
* Administer medications and treatments, including chemotherapy and biotherapy, as prescribed by physicians
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions
* Provide education and support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and promoting health literacy
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices

## Qualifications

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
* Current RN licensure in the state of Virginia
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* ACLS certification within 1 year of hire
* ONS/ONCC or Sentara-approved course in Chemotherapy and Biotherapy within 6 months of hire
