About the Role: As a Junior Underwriter, you will be responsible for analyzing and underwriting new business for a select group of agents and senior underwriters. You will rate policies efficiently, accurately, and within the guidelines of the available program(s). You will also promptly address inquiries from agents, policyholders, or prospects, and evaluate policies for renewal consideration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promptly address inquiries from agents, policyholders, or prospects
  • Evaluate policies for renewal consideration and recommend appropriate price or coverage adjustments
  • Attend on-site marketing visits with the underwriting team

Requirements:

  • Valid Producer's License required
  • 3+ years of experience required
  • Experience in standard underwriting practices and procedures is strongly preferred
  • Must possess effective communication, negotiation, and computer skills
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and detail orientation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance coverage forms and their application to exposure is strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of applicable Insurance Department regulations and policies is required
