Overview: The Clinical Staff Pharmacist is responsible for delivering pharmaceutical care and clinical services within designated patient care settings. This role is integral to achieving unit objectives, enhancing programs, and supporting various activities. Responsibilities include managing medication orders, developing pharmacotherapeutic strategies, and preparing sterile products. The pharmacist also provides drug-related information and education, oversees healthcare team members, and engages in committee activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee medication orders with consideration for specific age groups
- Engage in the development of pharmacotherapeutic plans
- Supervise members of the healthcare team
- Prepare and process sterile pharmaceutical products
- Contribute to the achievement of unit goals and initiatives
- Deliver drug information and educational resources
- Participate actively in committee work
- Enhance safety and efficiency through automation
- Fulfill assigned objectives
Qualifications:
- Education: A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is required
- Experience: One year of hospital pharmacy experience is preferred
- Licensure: A valid pharmacist license for the relevant state is necessary
- Special Skills: Proficiency in computer systems and clinical experience are essential
- Training: BLS and/or ACLS certification is preferred
