The Senior Vice President of Legislative Affairs and Credit Union Advocacy will be instrumental in developing and executing Ent's advocacy framework. This role involves spearheading initiatives to influence public policy, fostering relationships with key governmental figures and regulatory entities, and promoting the interests of Ent, its members, and the broader credit union sector.
Key Responsibilities- Advocacy Strategy: Formulate and implement a comprehensive advocacy plan that aligns with Ent's mission. Lead efforts to identify and tackle significant policy and regulatory challenges affecting the credit union landscape.
- Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate and sustain robust connections with government officials, industry influencers, and community organizations. Act as Ent's representative in national credit union associations.
- Leadership Collaboration: Work alongside Ent's leadership to pinpoint and address critical policy matters. Develop a legislative approach that supports long-term organizational goals.
- Communication Management: Oversee messaging and testimonies regarding legislative matters at various government levels. Collaborate with industry associations to represent Ent effectively.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and assess the success of advocacy efforts, making necessary adjustments based on outcomes and evolving circumstances.
- Member Engagement: Interact with Ent members to gather insights on advocacy-related concerns and encourage their participation in advocacy initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree or an advanced qualification in a relevant field is preferred.
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in legal, regulatory, or legislative advocacy.
- At least 6 years of experience in leadership roles, effectively influencing organizational change.
- In-depth understanding of the financial services sector, particularly credit unions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with the capability to design and implement complex advocacy strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
