Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Warehouse Operator to join our team at SNAP Staffing. As a Warehouse Operator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory management, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and Inventory Management: Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of items and quantities against purchase orders and packing lists. Unload and inspect goods for damage or defects; report any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Inventory Control: Sort, label, and store incoming products in designated warehouse locations using proper handling techniques to prevent damage. Accurately update and maintain inventory records through electronic systems or manual logs.
  • Picking and Packing: Pick and pack orders according to established guidelines, ensuring accuracy in item selection and proper packaging for shipment. Prepare shipping documents, including labels, packing lists, and shipping manifests.
  • Material Handling: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move and organize goods within the warehouse. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring that aisles, storage areas, and workspaces are free of clutter and hazards.
  • Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse layout and storage practices for improved efficiency. Assist in training new warehouse staff on proper procedures, safety guidelines, and equipment operation.
  • Safety and Quality: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or inventory discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or warehousing is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting preferred, but not required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and record keeping. Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and effectively (certification is an advantage).
  • Physical Demands: Physical stamina and capability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
