Position Summary

The Division of Neonatology at Phoenix Children's Hospital is in search of full-time BC/BE neonatologist(s). The selected Neonatologist will deliver care at the main campus and affiliated locations, including Phoenix Children's East Campus and Chandler Regional Medical Center. Phoenix Children's serves as the academic medical center for the University of Arizona-College of Medicine-Phoenix, facilitating approximately 13,000 deliveries across all sites, supported by an active maternal-fetal medicine and fetal care network. The facilities include a Level IV nursery at Phoenix Children's, a Level III nursery at East Campus, and a Level II nursery at Chandler Regional. Comprehensive subspecialty support is available, including programs for protective hypothermia, ECMO, and neonatal cardiac care. Education is a priority, with pediatric residents receiving training through the Phoenix Children's residency program and medical students through the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. Anticipation exists for the establishment of a Neonatology Fellowship program in the near future. Engagement in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives is encouraged, fostering a collaborative environment among attending physicians, nurse practitioners, and trainees.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care Services:
1) Deliver patient care services within clinical privileges, including but not limited to:
a) Direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
b) Provide subspecialty consultations and follow-up
c) Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
d) Offer urgent and emergent care as necessary
2) Aim for optimal patient and family-centered care
3) Support hospital patient satisfaction goals and division-specific targets
4) Adhere to divisional patient safety and quality standards
5) Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine

Divisional Responsibilities:
1) Establish and strive to meet annual physician goals and objectives
2) Support medical education programs, including:
a) Supervision of trainees and allied health professionals
b) Conducting teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences
c) Participating in the education of trainees and allied health professionals
d) Engaging in postgraduate continuing education activities
3) Support research initiatives within the division
4) Contribute to the growth of the division
5) Assist with satellite efforts when appropriate
