Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Revenue Management: Oversee the recording and reconciliation of all revenue streams, including donations, grants, and program fees.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports to ensure compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
  • Receivables Management: Manage the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor aging of receivables and follow up on overdue accounts to minimize bad debts.
  • Develop strategies to improve receivables turnover and reduce bad debts.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management, board members, and funders.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts to ensure financial stability and growth.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Conduct regular reviews of financial processes and recommend improvements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and funding guidelines to maintain our non-profit status.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment to promote a positive work culture.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a non-profit organization.
  • Proven experience in revenue and receivables management.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
