Position Overview:

The Ambulatory Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of our healthcare facilities by performing a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Polishes and cleans lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
  • Maintains cleanliness in rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms.
  • Conducts sweeping and vacuuming of floors.
  • Dusts and wipes down furniture and equipment.
  • Polishes metal fixtures.
  • Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
  • Cleans windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties waste receptacles.
  • Transports trash and waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Restocks bathroom supplies as needed.
  • Moves small equipment or tools between departments.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in the cleaning industry is preferred.
  • Background in medical cleaning is advantageous.
  • Successful candidates must complete a post-offer medical examination, background screening, and drug test.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary, along with the ability to communicate effectively. The role requires the ability to work in a standing position for extended periods and to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.

Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are essential, with or without corrective lenses. Exposure to chemicals may require special clothing or safety equipment.
