Wind Turbine Service Technician

Wind Tech Recruiters is collaborating with a prominent energy organization to find a Wind Turbine Service Technician. This role necessitates relocation to a designated area, and it is not a travel-based position.
The ideal candidate should possess at least one year of hands-on experience with Siemens Gamesa Wind Turbines.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute assembly, commissioning, testing, repair, and maintenance tasks on wind turbine generators and associated equipment at the wind farm.
- Perform safety assessments to identify potential electrical and mechanical risks within the wind turbines, switch room, and operations and maintenance building.
- Assist in Root Cause Analyses to identify equipment failures and their underlying causes.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation related to corrective and preventive maintenance of wind turbines and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and retrofit low to medium voltage electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic components related to wind turbines and the wind farm.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks safely and efficiently on wind turbines and associated equipment located on-site.
- Utilize appropriate safety gear and protective equipment to ensure safe work practices.
- Carry out safety analyses and reviews of hazards and energy sources prior to and during work assignments on the wind farm.
- Maintain tools and equipment used for maintenance tasks in proper working condition.
- Keep up with necessary training certifications and qualifications to perform work-related tasks safely and effectively.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a wind school graduate or college degree is a plus.
- Minimum of one year of practical experience with Siemens Gamesa Wind Turbines.
- Willingness to work overtime and rotating shifts as needed.
- Prior experience using hand tools and power tools is essential.
- Ability to work independently within a dynamic team environment.
- Capability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds, climb vertical ladders, and work at heights of up to 100 meters.
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor settings, including adverse weather conditions and confined spaces.
- Must be able to obtain certification to work with medium and high-voltage equipment.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to respond to the wind farm within a reasonable timeframe in case of emergencies.
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Passport.
