As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of doctors, nurses, and advanced care providers in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Report any changes in patient condition to the RN/LPN, maintaining open communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain clean and neat stocked areas and patient rooms, adhering to infection control and safety standards.
  • Operate unit equipment as required, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Run unit errands as needed, supporting the team in providing seamless care.
  • Assist with and accompany patients on admission, discharge, and transfer, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Answer patient call lights promptly, providing timely and responsive care.
  • Keep hallway clear of equipment, maintaining a safe and organized environment.
  • Distribute water and ice, ensuring patient comfort and hydration.
  • Maintain 24-hour urine collections, performing catheter checks and blood glucose monitoring as required.
  • Take and record vital signs and weight, accurately documenting patient information.
  • Record accurate intake and output, including NG, chest tube, ostomy bags, and foley.
  • Sign and initial documentation, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Document patient turns and repositioning, maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Report any skin condition to the RN, ensuring prompt attention and care.
  • Assist with completion of daily flow sheet, supporting the team in delivering high-quality care.
  • Respond to overhead pages, maintaining open communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in orientation of new employees as assigned, supporting the team in delivering exceptional care.
  • Adhere to current Infection Control and Safety Standards, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Access and accurately maintain electronic and paper medical records, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Regular and prompt attendance, ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
