Job Summary:

As a Clinical Dietitian/Inpatient, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive nutrition care services to patients. You will assess, develop, implement, and monitor patients' nutritional needs, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement personalized nutritional care plans based on patient assessments and needs.
  • Counsel patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, and food selection, taking into account individual preferences and cultural eating habits.
  • Plan and evaluate menus to meet patients' nutritional needs, considering food preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Communicate nutritional care data through record systems, including Medical Records and Dietary Information Record.
  • Provide consultation to the medical team on prescription of diets, nutritional assessments, and enteral and parental feedings.
  • Participate in discharge planning, recommending home care nutritional needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in dietetics, attending professional workshops and seminars as needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a related field, with a minimum of six months of experience or successful completion of a training program.
  • Bachelor's degree in food and nutritional sciences or a related field.
  • Accredited Dietetic Internship (DI) by the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
  • Registered Dietitian from the American Dietetic Association.
  • Ability to effectively use resources for research and demonstrated knowledge of and skill in interpersonal relations, customer service, problem solving, adaptability, decision making, oral communication, and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of experience as a clinical dietitian.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications.
  • State of Hawaii License Dietitian (LD).
  • Masters degree with an ADA-approved internship program.
