Role Summary

Tactical Air is actively seeking a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician to enhance our Maintenance division. This role is essential in supporting our fleet of advanced fighter aircraft, backed by over 75 years of collective expertise in tactical aviation maintenance and more than 30 years of military adversary contract support. Our Maintenance personnel are a committed group of skilled, A&P-certified, and tactical aircraft mechanics, technicians, and logisticians dedicated to ensuring safe and efficient ground maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a strong background in egress systems, demonstrating professionalism, high productivity, discipline, teamwork, technical proficiency, and responsiveness to the needs of the organization, colleagues, and clients. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, the technician will execute organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance tasks, including inspections, operational testing, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components, and equipment. This position requires the application of advanced technical knowledge to resolve complex issues and provide technical support, guidance, and training to fellow team members as necessary. Additional duties and cross-training may be assigned at the discretion of leadership.

Qualifications
  • Completion of Egress School - Military 'A' School or an equivalent civilian program is mandatory.
  • High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Current experience in the aircraft maintenance field, preferably within military or government aviation maintenance contracting.
  • Familiarity with high-performance military aircraft (F-5/T-38) is preferred.
  • A&P Certification or the ability to obtain it.
  • Possession of a Support Equipment Operator License (Tow Tractor, N2 Servicing Trailer, and Mobile Start Unit at a minimum).
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the capability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • A&P Certification.
  • Prior military experience.
  • Experience with T-38 or F-5 aircraft.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (with assistance if necessary).
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, including reaching with hands and arms.
  • Regularly ascend and descend stairs and/or ladders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Authorization
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
  • Tactical Air Support maintains a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for-cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is required.
  • Pre-employment and ongoing physical certifications are mandatory.
  • Occasional exposure to aircraft hangar or warehouse environments with loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate conditions (hot/cold), and potential electrical hazards or slip/trip risks.
  • May require handling hazardous materials.
  • Specific work hours will be determined by operational, departmental, or contractual needs.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be necessary.
  • Occasional travel to various work sites may be required.
