POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the guidance of a senior technician, the Compactor Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing, designing, installing, and repairing compactors and power units. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Replace hydraulic cylinders as needed.
- Fabricate replacement hoses and fittings.
- Weld steel components using MIG and Arc welding techniques.
- Cut steel materials with plasma cutters or torches.
- Create steel components for compactors.
- Conduct on-site repairs at client locations.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Complete necessary documentation.
- Install company and safety decals on all compactors as per standards.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.
- Refer complex repairs to senior technicians.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven skills in welding, hydraulics, or electronics.
- Proficiency in using MIG and stick welders, plasma cutters, and airless paint sprayers.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with hydraulic systems.
