Job Summary

The Production Technician position requires experience and skill in Injection or Compression molding technology. This role ensures that molds produce products within customer specifications, performs minor troubleshooting, and intervenes to ensure the process flow is running smoothly. The successful candidate will have a moderate level of mechanical ability and a general knowledge of the CSI product process flow, materials requirements, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Install hoses and ensure correct water flow on all molds.
  2. Set up conveyors and shielding to prevent part loss per engineering standards.
  3. Complete start-ups after mold changes using the Mold Set Up Sheet.
  4. Perform color changes efficiently to minimize downtime, scrap, and customer complaints.
  5. Pull runners and perform minor mechanical tasks.
  6. Capture and input accurate data into the Global Shop Floor System.
  7. Provide ongoing mold care, including daily cleaning and autonomous maintenance.
  8. Use approved tools and solvents for specific tasks.
  9. Understand and troubleshoot mold safe protection and working aspects of each mold.
  10. Troubleshoot minor mold problems and contact the Help Chain in a timely manner.
  11. Understand and troubleshoot material loading systems.
  12. Shut down, pull runner, and restart molding machines efficiently.
  13. Perform daily material checks and process parameter checks.
  14. Salvage parts and raw materials to reduce waste.
  15. Complete 5's in their assigned area of responsibility.
  16. Interact professionally with other employees to problem-solve in the moment.
  17. Follow all safety procedures and requirements.
  18. Understand emergency procedures and assist others in the event of an emergency.
