Job Summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Director to oversee the planning, budgeting, and operational functions of our facilities and support services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare engineering and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction and Planning
    • Represent the hospital in planning and coordination of construction activities, including the replacement facility.
    • Coordinate and monitor construction progress and documentation.
    • Monitor project budgets and activities of various consultants and contractors involved in construction and renovation projects.
    • Review and approve invoices, applications for payment, and progress documentation.
    • Inspect work, monitor quality, and follow correction activities for final acceptance.
  • Hospital Engineering
    • Oversee the Hospital Engineering department, assuring all regulatory and safety equipment is appropriately maintained.
    • Assure all regulatory and safety requirements are properly maintained.
    • Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained to meet budgeted productivity levels.
    • Use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of service levels.
    • Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
  • Clinical Engineering
    • Monitor and manage the clinical engineering program and coordinate operations with the corporate director of CE.
    • Ensure CE program quality and service are appropriate for PWH.
    • Serve as liaison between PHC Director of CE and PWH users of CE service.
    • Ensure CE maintains a database for continuous and thorough inventory of equipment and preventative maintenance documentation.
  • Security
    • Monitor and manage the hospital Security function and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
    • Set up and monitor covert surveillance as needed.
    • Assign and maintain current security system codes for all Piedmont Walton Hospital facilities and in-service new employees on alarm systems.
    • Responsible for reporting security trends to the Environment of Care Committee.
    Qualifications
    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree in Business/Management or related field is required.
      • In lieu of degree, six (6) years of relevant work experience will be accepted in addition to the experience requirement.
    • Experience
      • 7 years healthcare engineering experience or a closely related field to include leadership experience.
      • If no degree, a total of thirteen (13) years of experience required.
    • Certification
      • None required by law.
    • Additional Qualifications
      • BA/BS Degree in Architecture, or Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
      • Previous experience in new facility planning preferred.
