Position Summary:
IAC is looking for a qualified Assistant Manager with a strong background in law enforcement and corporate security to lead our security team and manage daily operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Security & Crisis Management, this role is essential in ensuring adherence to security protocols and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Supervise daily activities, shift schedules, and staffing of HQ Security personnel.
- Coordinate security staffing for major events at the headquarters.
- Deploy security staff strategically based on operational needs.
- Lead incident response initiatives, ensuring proper actions are taken and comprehensive reports are generated.
- Review and provide input on security policies and procedures, recommending improvements as necessary.
Investigative Duties:
- Collaborate with Security Management on investigations involving criminal activities and threats, utilizing digital tools and social media analysis.
- Complete special projects, including data management and reporting tasks.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Handle administrative functions such as attendance tracking, payroll, and expense reporting.
- Maintain open communication with Security Management regarding team performance and morale.
Professional Growth:
- Engage in ongoing training and certification programs related to fire safety and security.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Oversee security operations at the Fire Safety Command Station, including managing alarms and announcements.
- Ensure security personnel provide professional assistance to all visitors and delivery personnel.
- Deliver security services to protect employees and secure critical infrastructure.
- Enforce compliance with all IAC security policies and regulations.
- Be available for emergency situations and cover shifts as required.
Emergency Management:
- Act decisively to protect lives and property in the event of an active threat.
- Maintain a secure environment by applying appropriate measures in line with established protocols.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- At least five years in law enforcement, two years in corporate security, and two years in a supervisory role.
- Preferred experience in managing security operations with minimal oversight.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, ideally in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
Certifications:
- Preferred certifications in Physical Security (CPP, APP, PSP, PCI).
- Willingness to obtain required certifications within two years of employment.
- First Aid/CPR certifications are mandatory.
Armed Security Requirements:
- Possess an approved firearm as per Security Management guidelines.
- Maintain a valid NYPD carry permit or equivalent for concealed carry in NYC.
- Hold a valid NYS Armed Guard Security License.
- Complete an annual Firearms Training Course.
Skills and Attributes:
- Exemplary leadership skills and proven performance as assessed by the Senior Security Manager.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in administrative tasks and software applications such as MS Office and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking ability.
- Able to interact effectively with all organizational levels.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
Licenses and Background Checks:
- Maintain active status of all required licenses for continued employment.
- Successfully complete a background investigation as part of the hiring process.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Fluent in English, with strong reading and comprehension skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and colleagues.
- Capable of standing or walking for extended periods during events.
- Maintain mental alertness and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow established security procedures and chain of command.
- Manage the pressures associated with public interactions.
Additional Benefits:
- All training, licenses, and certifications are fully funded by IAC.
Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000
This salary range reflects the anticipated low and high end for this position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as location, experience, and performance. The range listed is part of IAC's comprehensive compensation package, which includes bonuses and various employee benefits.
