Aircraft Technician I Job Description

Job Summary:


The Aircraft Technician I is responsible for performing or assisting with inspection, maintenance, and repair of basic aircraft systems and structures under close supervision.


Key Responsibilities:



  2. Perform Basic Aircraft Inspections and Repairs: Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft systems and structures, and perform repairs and modifications as required.

  3. Assist with Aircraft Movement: Assist with the movement of aircraft as required, ensuring safe and efficient handling.

  4. Complete Paperwork and Documentation: Properly complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and other paperwork in a timely manner.

  5. Ensure Quality Standards: Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.

  6. Identify and Store Customer Property: Properly identify and store customer property and equipment, ensuring secure and safe storage.

  7. Operate Ground Support Equipment: Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment, including external power carts, hydraulic power units, hydraulic lift platforms, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders, and other equipment.

  8. Protect Customer Property: Ensure all customer property is properly protected and secured.

Additional Responsibilities:



  2. Use Material Tracking System: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand and charge labor to work orders, items, and squawks.

  3. Dispose of Waste and Maintain Cleanliness: Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic and de-icing fluids, and solvent rags, and apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.

  4. Use and Maintain Company-Provided Tools: Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment, returning items to designated storage areas after use.

  5. Comply with Safety Rules: Comply with safety rules and procedures, using protective equipment as required, and be alert for unsafe conditions, addressing and reporting them before putting people or property at risk.

  6. Support Aircraft Certification: In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.

Requirements:



  2. Working Knowledge: Working knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.

  3. Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
